a day full of rendezvous
Went out for breakfast at McDonald’s with ean hwa & YJ this morning. It seemed i hadn’t been waking up early since the beginning of my three-months-holidays. Ya know, it’s holidays…& I’m NEVER a morning person, so i stay up late at night and wake up at and even after lunch time everyday. Save the breakfast, my mom said. But i have had a lot of late night suppers all these days, lying on the coach & stuffed my mouth with junk foods. (*talk about keeping fit* Urgh!!)
We have a nice talking for almost 2 hours there. It had been a long long time since the three of us last contacted, except for occasional greetings via e-mail or SMS. YJ just broke up with her boyfriend from the university. Well, dumped, actually. And she seemed pretty upset about that. How could she not be? Being dumped by a guy she loved (or still loves) so much wasn’t really the best way of ending a relationship. What’s more, it happened because of another girl!! Well, we could only consoled her that it’s a good thing it ended up early, since they’d only been together for three months. God, i do hope she got over with the pain soon & would be able to find her true love someday. Ean hwa is still the same famous & pretty girl i know. She is the one who did most of the “counselling” for YJ, that we started calling her a professional counselor.
Yueh ni asked me out for a drink at night. The last time I saw her was at her 21st birthday party a few months ago, when i'd left early for the Chinese New Year BBQ feast at my apartment. We met up at the Thumb Music Cafe just across the street. It’s a favourite rendezvous for Penangites. You can sit there as long as you like while listening to the band. We found a couple of our ex-classmates there, like us, they were also gathering up to enjoy their last few days of the semester break before going back to college next week. Afterall, three months seemed like a SHORT break especially when you’re reaching the end of it, and knowing that there’s a whole bunch of assignments and exams waiting for you when school reopen. =(
