Received a RM300 cheque this morning as a cash prize of a SMS-based quiz that I’d been participating over the last few months. Yippie!! Well, to be precise, it’s only RM290 after RM10 was deducted for postage & handling fees. Well, it’s ok, considering that it was impossible for me to go all the way to KL just to redeemed the seemingly insignificant cash prize. Being the fastest to answer the question correctly on the final round, I was granted the chance to choose between a RM300 cash prize & 2 AirAsia travel vouchers. Since I won’t have time for vacation at the moment, I’d chosen the cash prize instead. I know RM300 is nothing, but this is the first time I actually won a contest. And I’d been joining the JETSET Club & participating in this sms-quiz for a couple of months until my prepaid credit almost depleted. So I guess it DID mean something to me.
In fact three weeks ago when the UnrealMind Interactive called to notify me that I’m the winner-of-the-day, I could hardly gloated over the news as I recalled the similar phone call my sis received a few years back which notify her about winning 4 LOTR tickets from some sms-contest. It turned out to be a bluff when she went to claimed the tickets at the appointed MAXIS service centre in Prangin Mall. All she got was some “your name is not on our winners’ database” reply. So I guess I have every reason to keep the joy until this morning. Yippie!! again. =P
